You have the option of adding colored elastic ties for a more unique and colorful smile.
how do traditional braces work?
Traditional metal braces apply consistent, gentle pressure on the teeth in order for them to strategically shift into the correct position over a period of time. No two smiles are the same, and all patients will periodically have adjustments made in order to achieve results tailored specifically to their unique features.
stainless steel brackets
These are small metal squares that are carefully placed onto the patient’s teeth to serve as anchor points when moving teeth.
arch wires
The arch wires are the thin metal wires that are threaded through all of the brackets and how our doctors will be able to adjust the pressure in order to gradually move the patient’s teeth into the right position.
elastic bands
In order to maintain the right level of force, elastic bands are attached to each bracket. This is the fun part, they come in a wide variety of colors!
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners offer a modern approach to straightening teeth using a custom-made series of aligners that are created specifically tailored to your teeth. Aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that are worn over the teeth. Clear aligners gently and gradually shift the teeth into the correct position over time, based on the exact movements created by our doctors in the office- often times with attachments to pull the teeth in the right direction. Clear aligners are definitely the more discreet option, but they require compliance in order to achieve the best results.
Patients like aligners because they are completely removable, so they do not alter diet or hygiene at all. The benefits of clear aligners include no pokey wires, no broken brackets, and fewer emergencies.
